Mr. Turtle

There's a story behind
this mess out back
Mr. Turtle, you see
Reminds me of Zak.

He cried for this creature
When he was a tot
So we got it for him...
How could we NOT?

Mr. Turtle has moved
From house to house
He's the best pet ever,
Quiet as a mouse.

So I am putting off buying that digital SLR camera and came across another digital camera (not fancy schmancy) that has been in my posession for some time (that I had no clue how to use). I figured if I couldn't even use the BASIC digital camera, maybe I was not ready for a REAL live camera. So I will attempt to amuse you with my talent. I am going out on a limb and posting on Patty's photo blog today. Please go to Photo a la Mode and see her amazing work. If you are into photography, join in and you just might win a PRIZE!

The settings used here were: ISO 80... f4.8  Aperture 2.8 . White Balance was set to "auto" and that's all I got to say about that. I know what ISO means now, and I only know this because Patty told me in this . I think it's too "light" at the top of the little rake where the bird is, but this was the best of the two I took.

kim!
i love your poem, and how sweet that turtle must be to ya'll. and that photo? not too light at the top! proud of you for taking the leap and starting to play... even to know enough about the settings-where they are, etc. did you use your light meter? and i think maybe a little fancy shmancy camera w all those settings!! :)
hope to see you soon!

Kim I really love this photo and the poem that you wrote!!! The thing is, that photography is not only about skill and equipment but also about subject matter and composition and risk taking. You did a great job with this photo! The lighting is beautiful and I love the subject matter and composition. Keep it up!
